Prepping for Coast-to-Coast Trek Grandma-EV, August 3, 2026August 4, 2026 Pebble Flow - looking good! Just back from service at Fremont HQ. They did an awesome job detailing her! She looks so much better than the day we picked her up. They got all the "buffer swirls" out that we could not wash off. New solar panels installed and all my little and big "punch list" items were addressed. Big shout out to Pebble service at Headquarters in Fremont. They took good care of us.Early prep and packing - Tuesday, August 3rdThere is SOOOOoooo much to do! We leave on Friday for our Coast-to-Coast Trip 53 days away from home. Packing and prepping the house and trailer will take all week. NO, I'm not complaining. It's fun, but it is overwhelming too. Here is an overview of our first route: Northern California to Ottawa, Canada. First we stay in Santa Clarita for 4 days to celbrate our grandson's 1st birthday. Then, after 3 nights of moochdocking, we head east. 2 State Parks, 3 Harvest Hosts Sites, 2 RV Parks (3 nights), and 2 Ontario Provincial Parks. This should be an adventure!8/4 UPDATE: I promised you Coast-to-Coast. This is just the first section. We will continue on to Prince Edward Island and stick a toe or swim in the Atlanic.Full disclosure, our closest point to the Pacific will be about 32 miles, but I am counting that! But back to packing…Grandpa-EV built custom boxes for our folding Lectric e-Bikes. This holds them on their side so that we can stow them under the tonneau cover in the bed of our Silverado-EV. The blue one in the back is Grandpa-EV’s and the purple one in front is mine!I hope they won’t be too hard to access. Then there is all the stuff that my daughter wants us to bring to Canada for her. A box of Christmas stuff. Christmas presents from last Christmas that were too big to take home on the plane. A used doll house that my daughter found on a free site that she HAD to have for the kids. So many things.This is just the start, but it shows the custom-cut piece of plywood that we use to make a flat, level spot in the back for cargo. The back seats of the Silverado EV fold up, for when the mid-gate is open, but it also makes a nice area for cargo. You can see we have the seats folded up.I started ice cubes in the house, to be moved to the Pebble once we turn on the fridge. I have started packing things into the Pebble. There are stacks of stuff all over the house, and NO, I am not going to show you that mess. Laundry, organizing things for the housesitter, checking lists. So many lists! I can’t even remember all the things that I did ALL day. Back to it…!
